Healthy City Atlas

HADES: Healthy City Atlas for Decision-making Enhancement System

This research develops the "Healthy City Atlas," a robust decision-support platform designed to bridge the gap between fragmented urban data and evidence-based health policy. Addressing the critical need to standardize health indicators across Korea, the project creates 100 systematized indices covering 237 local governments. Grounded in a socio-ecological model, the proposed platform synthesizes interactions between physiological, social, and community factors to provide a holistic view of urban health. This project moves beyond static visualization of health data by integrating predictive analytics. The platform will identify unique regional profiles and generates custom-tailored policy solutions for specific municipalities. This shift from descriptive statistics to prescriptive intelligence allows policymakers to overcome generic "one-size-fits-all" approaches to provide more targeted solutions for improving health and quality of life.

This research is funded by the Ministry of Education (Korea) and the National Research Foundation (Korea) under the Global Humanities and Social Sciences Convergence Research Program.
